Salary: £21,377 plus
We are looking to appoint cover supervisors to take responsibility for groups and classes in the senior school to cover the short-term absence of the designated teacher. These are term-time only positions, covering up to 8 periods a day, plus one duty.
Responsibilities include:
- managing classrooms to supervise and direct pupils to complete work that has been set
- supporting positive pupil engagement and pupil conduct while they are undertaking this work
- taking the class register, and assisting with the follow up of pupils who are unaccounted for at morning and afternoon registrations
- dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures
- liaising with the pastoral team about urgent pastoral or safeguarding concerns when required collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher
- reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising
- being on supervision duty over breaktime and lunchtime, as required, to monitor and ensure safe behaviour in designated play and social spaces
- undertaking other supervisory duties around the school and provide assistance with other general duties when required
Person specification
Essential:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and enthusiasm, and an ability to take the initiative as required
- Motivated to work with children and young people
- Strong pastoral instincts and a commitment to excellent pastoral care and safeguarding for all pupils
Desirable:
- Experience of working with or caring for children
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Start date: 27th August 2026
- Salary: £21,377 per annum Monday to Friday: 08:40 to 16:10 term time only. (includes half an hour for provided lunch)
- 25 working days’ annual paid holiday plus statutory English public holidays (pro rata) – personal holiday can only be taken during the normal school holidays
